&tip #23 by Crescent Renmooria

  • Remember, Leonhart is a Medieval Steampunk Fantasy setting, similar to DnD settings. You can build any character, race, or class you choose; but avoid real-world people, alien spaceships, and things which ruin the environment.

  • Adding more to your posts can help the roleplay along, and interest others to interact. What your character is thinking, seeing, or wearing can help paint a vivid picture.

When describing surroundings, don't be afraid to throw some flavor into your posts! Sensory words and base actions are the Foundation of your post, but adding in rhetorical devices to place emphasis on scenes or thoughts will help in capturing an audience!

&tip #25 by Nebulae

  • Throw in some memories at time to time, if the experience reminds your character of a past event. It shows more about your character and adds a little twist to the post!

&tip #26 by With a K

  • Don't be afraid to develop lore in the world of Leonhart. As long as it doesn't clash with existing cannon, it can be fun to make the world come to life!

&tip #27 by Akira

  • It's best to use capitalization and proper spelling. However, there's no required format. Some players put actions in bold and character thoughts in (parentheses). You can do whatever you like! Remember to keep Out-of-Character chatting out of the roleplay channels.

&tip #28 by Syxon Martyr

  • No one likes being told what to do! When roleplaying with someone, try not to force their character to do anything within your post. Allow the player to react with their own statements and description before proceeding.

&tip #29 by Milia

  • Be nice. You'll make much more friends, and it just might make someone's day!

&tip #30 by Milia

  • Assign roles to your characters with &roles.

&tip #31 by Kassix

  • Always try to keep in mind that roleplaying requires two. When writing a post, try to leave more than just your reactions to what another person did, also leave something for them to respond to and move the story or conversation forward. But don't forget to react to others either; everyone wants their actions to be acknowledged, not just you!

&tip #32 by Nebulae

  • It's always nice to show how your character is feeling in your post, like saying that they were moping around or jittering with excitement. You wouldn't want to leave others guessing!

&tip #33 by Akira

  • Try to focus on the positive. An interesting and positive story is always more compelling than a simple edgy one.
